Local Authority Support Through COVID-19
In relation to the ongoing community provision, if there are any issues arising, or concerns regarding gaps in support and provision, please do keep us informed, by contacting Tracy O’Grady in the first instance tracy.ogrady@hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk as HBBC is able to escalate this up and to national government level if necessary, e.g. the issue of some people running out of cash to pay for food or other essential items being delivered by neighbours/volunteers (often older people who withdraw small amounts each week) as they can’t get to a post office/bank has been escalated to this level.
The support service being delivered by the Borough Council which includes:
·        Linking people into local support networks where these are in place, such as your local group/arrangements
·        Help with emergency food access and ongoing shopping assistance
·        Advise on collection of prescriptions and other essentials
·        Social contact for those who are lonely
·        Advise on financial help for those who are worried about their personal finances
·        Advise on how to look after your health and wellbeing whilst self isolating.
Should you therefore come across individuals who you feel may need more support than you are able to offer, an on line form for support can be completed at www.hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk/coronasupport  or call 01455 238141 and ask for the Corona Support Service.
